Cluck Yeah: The Ultimate Salada de Alface com Frango Recipe

Look, we all have that one friend who says salads are "just sad leaves." You know the type — the person who looks at a bowl of greens like it personally insulted their ancestors. Well, this salada de alface com frango is here to shut that friend up for good. It is crispy, it is juicy, it is packed with flavor, and it takes about as long to make as it does to decide what to watch on Netflix. We are talking tender chicken, crunchy lettuce, and a dressing situation that will make you want to lick the bowl. No sad leaves allowed. Let's get tossing.

The Salad That Started It All

Fresh salada de alface com frango with crispy lettuce and seasoned chicken strips on a plate

This is the poster child of chicken salads — bright, hearty, and utterly unapologetic about how much flavor it brings. The lettuce stays crisp, the chicken is seasoned just right, and everything comes together in a way that makes you forget you are technically eating a salad. It is the kind of dish that makes people say, "Wait, this is healthy?" Yes, and it is delicious, and no, you cannot have my portion.

1 large head of fresh lettuce (romaine or iceberg works great), washed and chopped
2 chicken breasts, sliced into strips
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tomato, diced
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Juice of 1 lime
2 tablespoons olive oil (for dressing)
1 teaspoon honey or mustard for a little zing

Season the chicken strips with garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let them sit for a few minutes while you question all your past salad decisions.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken strips for about 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
While the chicken cooks, toss the chopped lettuce, tomato, and red onion in a big bowl.
Whisk the lime juice, olive oil, and honey (or mustard) together to make a quick dressing.
Slice the cooked chicken and pile it on top of the greens.
Drizzle the dressing over everything, toss gently, and serve immediately.

Delicious, Easy, and Completely Irresistible

Delicious salada de frango recipe with fresh vegetables and shredded chicken ready to serve

This version proves that a chicken salad does not need to be complicated to be irresistible. It is the kind of recipe you throw together on a busy weeknight and still feel like a culinary genius. The chicken stays juicy, the veggies stay fresh, and the whole thing comes together fast enough that you will have time to pat yourself on the back before dinner. Serve it as a light main or a side, and watch it disappear before you can say "seconds."

2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken is a total shortcut hero here)
1 head of lettuce, chopped into bite-sized pieces
1 carrot, grated
1/2 cup sweet corn
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
3 tablespoons mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: a handful of croutons for that crunch factor

In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, lettuce, grated carrot, corn, and parsley.
In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt) with lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until everything is evenly coated.
Top with croutons if you are feeling fancy, and serve right away.
Accept compliments graciously and refuse to share the last bite.
