Simple Microwave Brownie Recipe: Quick and Easy Chocolate Dessert

A simple microwave brownie recipe is the perfect solution for anyone craving a rich, chocolatey dessert without spending time preheating an oven or preparing elaborate batters. With just a handful of pantry staples and a few minutes of preparation, you can create a warm, fudgy brownie right in your own kitchen. This recipe is ideal for busy weeknights, last-minute guests, or simply satisfying a sweet tooth with minimal effort. The microwave method produces a moist, decadent brownie that rivals traditional oven-baked versions, and cleanup is refreshingly easy since everything comes together in a single bowl.

Quick and Easy Brownie Dessert

This image showcases a beautifully prepared microwave brownie with a dense, moist texture and an inviting chocolate aroma. The quick preparation method ensures a soft center and slightly set edges, delivering the classic brownie experience in minutes. It is a wonderful dessert to enjoy warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a light dusting of cocoa powder. The simplicity of this recipe makes it a dependable choice for satisfying chocolate cravings at any time of day.

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

In a microwave-safe mug or small bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until evenly combined.
Add the milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract, stirring until the batter becomes smooth and free of lumps.
Fold in the chocolate chips if a richer, more indulgent flavor is desired.
Microwave on high power for 60 to 90 seconds, checking at the 60-second mark to avoid overcooking.
Allow the brownie to rest for one to two minutes before serving, as it will continue to set as it cools.
Serve warm and enjoy directly from the mug or transfer to a plate for a more polished presentation.

One-Minute Brownie Preparation

This visual demonstrates how quickly the batter comes together, emphasizing the convenience of the one-minute preparation approach. Measuring the dry ingredients first and then incorporating the wet ingredients ensures a consistent result every time. The microwave does the majority of the work, transforming a simple batter into a warm, satisfying dessert with minimal monitoring. For best results, use a microwave-safe container that allows the brownie to rise without overflowing, and adjust the cooking time slightly based on the wattage of your appliance.

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Combine the dry ingredients in a microwave-safe mug and mix thoroughly with a fork or small whisk.
Pour in the milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract, then stir until the batter is uniform and glossy.
Add chocolate chips for extra richness, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 60 seconds, then continue in 15-second intervals if needed.
Remove carefully, as the mug will be hot, and let the brownie rest for a couple of minutes to firm up.
Enjoy the brownie warm, optionally garnishing with powdered sugar, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
