Single-Serve Brownie in a Mug: Easy 2-Minute Recipe for One

Craving something chocolatey but don't want to bake a whole pan? This single-serve brownie in a mug is the perfect solution. Ready in about two minutes, it delivers a warm, fudgy dessert with minimal effort and just a handful of pantry staples. Whether you're treating yourself after dinner or need a quick comfort fix, this recipe is designed for one person — no leftovers, no fuss, and no rubbery texture. Let's dive into two delicious ways to enjoy a brownie made just for you.

Quick Brownie in a Mug for One

This mug brownie is the fastest route to a chocolate fix. It comes together in a single mug, uses basic ingredients, and bakes right in the microwave. The key is not to overcook it — pull it out while the center is still slightly soft so it stays fudgy instead of turning rubbery. It's rich, warm, and best enjoyed straight from the mug with a spoon.

• 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 2 tablespoons melted butter or neutral oil
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional)

1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until evenly combined.
2. Add the milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract. Stir with a spoon until the batter is smooth and no dry streaks remain.
3. Fold in the chocolate chips if using them.
4. Microwave on high for 60 to 75 seconds. Check at 60 seconds — the top should look set but the center should still be slightly moist.
5. Let the mug rest for 1 minute before eating, then enjoy warm with a spoon.

Brownie Dessert Cup for One

If you want something a little more special, turn your single brownie into a layered dessert cup. Bake the mug brownie first, let it cool slightly, then crumble it into a glass and layer it with yogurt, whipped cream, or a spoonful of chocolate ganache. It looks impressive, tastes indulgent, and still serves exactly one person — perfect for a cozy night in or a small celebration.

• 1 prepared single-serve brownie, cooled
• 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt or whipped cream
• 1 tablespoon chocolate ganache or melted chocolate
• 1 teaspoon cocoa nibs or grated chocolate for topping
• Fresh berries (optional, for garnish)

1. Bake the single-serve brownie using the mug recipe above, then let it cool for about 5 minutes.
2. Crumble half of the brownie into the bottom of a small glass or dessert cup.
3. Add a layer of Greek yogurt or whipped cream over the crumbles.
4. Drizzle with chocolate ganache or melted chocolate.
5. Repeat with the remaining brownie crumbles and another layer of yogurt or cream.
6. Finish with cocoa nibs, grated chocolate, and fresh berries if desired. Serve immediately.

Both versions prove that a satisfying brownie doesn't require a full batch. With a mug, a microwave, and a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy a warm, chocolatey treat made just for one — anytime the craving strikes.
