BINI has issued a statement via social media on Thursday after a video involving some of its members recently circulated online.
Some netizens who saw the clip took issue with what they deemed to be an inappropriate sexual joke.
In the statement, the girl group collectively acknowledged how the past few days have been “triggering and disappointing.”
“The video shows a private moment of us with friends. We definitely did not intend to hurt anyone in the process. We offer no excuse for our actions, reactions, and choice of words. We take full accountability. Nagkamali kami.”
BINI added that they regret their mistake and apologized to their fans, friends, families, and the general public.
“We humbly ask for a chance to reflect on and learn from our mistakes and continue to work on becoming better versions of ourselves. Maraming salamat po sa inyong malasakit, suporta, at pang-unawa.”
BINI is an eight-member P-pop girl group composed of Maloi, Jhoanna, Stacey, Colet, Aiah, Mikha, Sheena, and Gwen. They are popular for the songs “Pantropiko” and “Salamin, Salamin.”
