Most pageant contestants talk about their hobbies and interests when they introduce themselves to the world for the first time.

But Krishnah Gravidez, who is representing the Philippines in the upcoming Miss World competition, opted to focus an important aspect of herself.

The Filipina beauty queen shared that she has discovered “an unshakeable quiet courage” as she took on many roles in her life. She said she has been “hustling since I was 14 not because I had to, but because I wanted to build something bigger than myself.”

“I started selling beauty kits. By 16, I was flipping burgers,” she said of her experience as a service crew member, which led to a life-changing encounter with actress Janine Gutierrez, who encouraged her to try pageantry.

“Full heart, full smile,” she added. “Because every chapter, no matter how small, was shaping me.”

According to Gravidez, this “quiet courage” was something that she has seen in her parents and the communities she has worked closely with as part of her advocacy.

And now, as a beauty queen and an aspiring engineer, she intends to use this “silent strength into my loudest testament of determination.”

“I stand with quiet courage — the kind that holds steady, that dares to dream even when no one’s watching,” she said. “Courage doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers, builds, and stands anyway.”
